Free Mammograms at CAMC Women's & Childrens Hospital
Free mammograms are being offered on the 3rd Monday and Wednesday at Women's Comprehensive Breast Center , 830 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suite 205 (that's the Medical Office Building by Women & Children's Hospital). The number to call to schedule is 304-345-9051. These are screening mammograms only. They are able to provide this service through a grant form the Salvation Army's Margaret Capehart Trust Fund. Free or Low-Cost Breast and Cervical Cancer Screenings
You may be able to get these free or low-cost screenings if you meet age and income guidelines, and you do not have health insurance, or your health insurance does not cover breast and cervical cancer screenings. To find out where you can get free or low-cost screenings, call the Cancer Information Service at 1-800-4-CANCER (1-800-422-6237) or the WVBCCSP at 1-800-642-8522. The West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program screens women in all 55 counties in WV.
YWCA ENCORE plus Breast Cancer Education & Support Program
YWCA ENCORE plus can help you take charge of your own health by:
- Teaching you how to examine your own breasts every month
- Providing educational materials about breast health
- Referring you to specialized programs that provide eligible women with free or reduced-cost screenings and exams
- Providing the support you need in order to get a mammogram and/or breast exam (example: assistance with childcare, transportation, etc.)
- Helping you find all the information and services you need
